A Tale of Rococo

Shooting update

Busy working on images from my shoots with Lana and Rebecca earlier this week. Then prep for a few hours shooting in Manchester ahead of a gig next week.

Today is almost four shoots in one, as I cover my half day in Poeke in Flanders, Belgium and the morning I spent at the Rococo Tales event in June.

As a rule I don't attend group events. They're usually a mess of people competing for shots, and a bit of a rugby scrum. Previous experience tells me nothing serviceable comes from these situations, and it's hard to end up with unique images. So for me, usually, these things are a false economy.

However, Regina Piil contacted me earlier this year to see if I was interested in an event she'd been invited to. I had already arranged to work with her this year in the UK, but with a little digging, I could see that the organisers, Sara Scarlett and Christall (who I knew from a trip last year) and their approach was such that I'd have dedicated 1-2-1 time with each model and I'd have creative choice over clothing and locations of shooting.

At €500 for 4 models with almost an hour with each one, a stylist and a range of period handmade costumes, it was an easy enough decision to give it a go. And build a third European photo trip.

So it was that I ended up at Kasteel van Poeke for 9am on a drab June day in the Belgian countryside.
