Shooting update

Gearing up for a return to shooting, and have been quietly but consistently adding to the kit bag. So the current kit list looks like this:

Cameras

For studio work, the Leica SL3s with Sigma Contemporary 35mm f2, 65mm f2, ART 85mm f1.4, 105 Macro f2.8.

For landscapes etc Contemporary 28-70mm f2.8.

For travel, Leica CL with Sigma 18-50mm f2.8

For analogue vibes Nikon F5 with Nikkor 85mm AFD f1.4 and the Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f2.8

Lighting

All the Godox gear is gone now, and I'm fully in Profoto land. Whilst I still have an Acute pack with 600Ws head, this is up for sale.

My main kit now is 3x Profoto B1X 500Ws heads, with a range of OCF and Bowens S mount modifiers. Yet to use these new lights, but plan to rectify that a lot on the upcoming trip.

Today's content

Today we're deep in Throwback Thursday territory with a fab vintage fashion look I shot with Natasha Kalashnikova back in 2016, at my studio.

Now a successful mentor and studio owner herself, Natasha was northern bound and called in for a 4-hour shoot with me, and this is one of many varied looks we came up with that day.

One thing I continually strive for in longer shoots is variety of content. It's a bit like sorting a soundtrack or playlist, getting the pacing right, fast, slow, banger, energy saver, big outtro. And so with my shoots we start gentle - usually with portraits, then gear up through fashion to edgier looks before usually a finale at a model's or my highest levels.

As this shoot predates the blog there are 20 images in the set and you need to be a subscriber to see the rest!
