Artemis Laid Bare

Naked larking about with an awesome model

Artemis Laid Bare

Shooting update

Still on hiatus as I play assistant to the recovering wife. I've lined up my next long-distance walk, though. So this year's trek will be the Dales Way. This circa 80 mile route goes from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere.

So the first week of September, will see me donning a backpack and walking a fair bit. I only took my phone camera with me last time. But having done a multi-day route once, I know what gear I can leave behind. That means the Leica CL will be coming with me to record some of the stunning views on offer.

Today's content

We head back to March today and that first shoot with Sarah (Artemis Fauna). I've since re-united with Sarah at Basford. The images from that shoot are pretty much guaranteed to feature, and they're very different from what we created here at Silkwood.

This was the final look from this shoot, we positioned one of Silkwood's two large posing blocks and Sarah got all clambery.

Whilst I love to shoot all styles of image, but there is a special place in my heart for the challenge of art nude. It's a technical as well as creative challenge. Lighting can be unforgiving for this as all you have is whatever staging and a naked human creating, hopefully interesting, shapes.

They grant you permission to capture them at their rawest and arguably most vulnerable. The expectation is to showcase their ability and their form in an interesting and artistic way. It's a responsibility I take really seriously. I've been incredibly lucky to work with some awesome models over the years. Sarah is right up there with them. I foresee an ongoing working relationship, if she can put up with me.

40 images today, and you have to be a subscriber to see the rest of them!
