Shooting update
Due to a third no show on the last day of the trip, last week, I managed to make some expensive but fortuitous travel ticket amends and got home late on Thursday evening.
I've managed to edit the first shoot of the trip already and am part way through shoot 2. Both looking pretty good already, so I'm hopeful that the rest of the trip maintains this positive start.
The trip was a great success overall, I think. In the end I managed 17 shoots, shot a bit over 10,000 images and now have a lot of editing to do! More importantly, Raf was again a great inspiration in Antwerp, and I've got the experimentation bug when it comes to lighting set-ups.
A quieter week, this week, with a fab reunion with Irina, tomorrow over at Silkwood. You may remember some of the very striking images we created in just 90 minutes, last year.

With a very free form approach to this one, it's going to be interesting to see what she brings along for the ride, and I've got some different lighting set-ups I'd like to try. Results to come!
Today's content
Today though, it's more content from the Berlin trip. This set was the first look shot with Lena Benschneider, so image 6 onwards. The first 5 were new polas for her book.
Lena arrived with her partner Viktor on a sub-zero Berlin morning, just after Delizeu had left.
Friendly and easy to get on with, we ran through a brief intro and then got to shooting.
Where a session is about helping a newer model to get quality images for their burgeoning book, I tend to keep things quite simple, styling wise. Agencies are trying to see what they look like, how clothes fit them, etc. They're not interested in how artistic my lighting is - philistines!
So for this set and most of what Lena and I shot together, I kept a clean fairly well lit scene, letting her find her feet with posing and presence.
