Channelling Evelyn
Valis does forensic psychologist for a day

Today's post is a little different in that I normally create for the hell of it, looking to create interesting images with fellow creatives. Outside of an initial mood board there's often no end destination in mind.
My wife, is a crime author, and she was mid-way through writing her fifth book, The Shadow Killer, when we were chatting about upcoming shoots. Upon seeing Valis, she stated, "That's Evelyn!"
Evelyn is a forensic psychologist and a new character in her world of West Yorkshire police and the team of DI Andrew "Ziggy" Thornes (her main protagonist).
So I was dispatched to Liverpool, Valis's home town (though she's now one of the Brighton set of creatives) to catch up with her on a rare trip home. Co-incidentally, it's also where Ziggy is from.
The expectation was to conjure up something beyond what we'd already planned and get some content for the wife to use in promotion of her book. Thankfully, Valis was very up for that and off we went.

So we played with some situational portraits and then fell back into standard studio fashion/portrait looks to give a range of images for my wife to use.
I think they turned out OK. It really helps when you have a striking model who understands her light and projection of a character.
