Shooting update

This week sees a couple of relatively short notice shoots. First up is a reunion with Rose to further explore this new phase of her modelling life.

Then, hot on the heels of that, it's a first time shoot with Belgian model extraordinaire, Marie Silvers Sy. Can't wait to paint her with light in Silkwood Studio and have her draped all over the large posing blocks. I think stunning images are guaranteed!

Today's content

So it seems apt to include a shoot from my latest trip to the capital. This trip had been built around an original plan to be in London on the Sunday following completion of a long-distance walk. When I realised I'd done nowhere near enough training, I called it off but rearranged the Sunday shoot with Alyssa to the Friday. And then booked a number of models for the Saturday.

And then the calamities started! My first model for the Saturday morning withdrew. So after a quick casting, I found a very experienced model. Only for her to cancel in the early hours of the day of the shoot. Whilst the reasons given were understandable, it didn't stop it costing me a over a hundred quid in lost/empty studio time.

An offer to reimburse me the studio fees was made, which I accepted. Sadly, that money never materialised. So I'm now down nearly £1000 in studio fees for no shows and late cancellations this year. At some point, people on both sides of the camera have to start respecting the other side. It's unsustainable as it is, currently. At some point, avid photographers like myself will just call it quits and then the models will be without customers...

Anyway, on to the reason for shooting, pictures!

One of my afternoon models was Vanessa. Originally from Colombia and now a London resident, Vanessa wanted more commercial images for her burgeoning point as she seeks to become agency signed.

Already in possession of digitals, we simply got straight down to shooting. Vanessa had brought a range of outfits, and we shot a casual look to start with to get us into the flow.
