Morning to you all and welcome to another week. Today we're straight into it with the very first images I shot with Valentina (she models as LEnza).

We'd hooked up at Paol's spacious studio (Liber8) on the outskirts of Chorley, over in Lancashire, towards the end of 2024.

First shoots with new people can always be a bit of a gamble, but I needn't have worried. Like many models who venture to these shores from the continent, Valentina just got on with the job in hand. Able to pose and style herself, given a little free rein, she cracked on and these are just a taste of what followed.

Beginning shoots with portraits or a simple fashion look is always usual, I find. It allows us both to ascertain the right way to work with one another. How much direction is needed? Is the lighting right? Is the staging where we want it to be?

Often the first set is almost disposable, but we have 20 solid images from that set and each that followed, so there, for me, is the mark of a good model.
