Shoot update

Before we get to today's shoot, a quick update. I'm shooting in London, today, having arrived in the Capitol on Saturday afternoon. I had three shoots yesterday and another two today, ahead of flying out to Berlin later this evening. But before that, a shoot with another Model Management find, Christina Sun, a Chinese fashion model based in London.

And then another member of the UK freelance glitterati, the fabulous Sophia Gray:

Day 1 in Berlin is 6 shoots and a 14 hour day. Day 2 is just the three shoots. Including two models I've wanted to work with for some time. Mathilde who models as Dottir Model, and Claire (Rebirthofthebird) who I've had many conversations and mis-aligned schedules with for the last couple of years, so I'm delighted we finally get together to create.

With a 6pm finish, it'll then be a taxi back to the airport for an overnight in London.

Today's content

Today we're fast-forwarding to October last year and our last pet-sitting trip.

As I've mentioned previously, Cat, my wife, is an author and one of her friends is an author and journalist based in the South of France.

Whenever her friend is off on a press trip, we get the call, Can you look after the cats and chickens for us, please?

It's such a great gig, get up feed the cats, check the chickens and the day is your own. Normally, we'd then head off and explore or sight-see.

However, this time around Cat was elbow deep in Book 6 with her editor's availability rapidly approaching. So, it was work only for her.

After our earlier trip to another acquaintance's to sit their Persians, where I'd organised a couple of shoots in Toulouse, I decided to do more of the same.

As with the last post, I took to Instagram, Kavyar and Book.fr to find models within a reasonable distance. Catalina (featured above) was a wonderful advocate as well, personally recommending me to a number of great up-and-coming models in Toulouse. Whilst you'll have seen some of those in the 2025 round-up, there will be much more from this trip's shoots this year.

So it was that I managed to agree terms with Anaïs, who models or modelled as Boou. She was based in the UK, but following COVID-19, headed back to her native Montpellier where she is currently retraining as a Yoga instructor.

I'd missed her when she was in the UK, and so was delighted to finally get to work with her.

The remaining 20+ images from the shoot, and more info, are below the line, and you need to be a member (free to do) to see it!
