Shooting update
Today I was supposed to be en-route to Newcastle and the Mayfield Studio, for a first visit, and a reunion with Nicole Rayner. Sadly, as seems to be the way sometimes, I had a late cancellation for the shoot, so I'm focussing on editing my shoots with Tania and Minh Ly, from Tuesday of this week.
I also managed to secure a shoot with an amazing model, Ksenia Lytvynova, on the Sunday of my Paris trip. So that plus the kit struggles for carry on have meant a last-minute switch to Eurostar and the trip kicking off a day early.
Today's content
As I'm in a nostalgic mood, I'm digging into the archives for today's shoot, with NG Barbi. An Italian model, she was studying in Leeds at the time. We shot together 3 times whilst she was in the city. She's now off in the US pursuing her medical career.
I think there's often a perception of models fitting a bit of an airhead preconception. Nothing could be further from the truth, in my experience. Maybe it's just who I've worked with, but I've worked with bio-medical scientists, police officers, nurses, astrophysicists, archaeologists amongst other professions. Models I've worked with have been some of the most environmentally and sociologically conscious people I've ever met. They've all, bar a very small, number been incredibly intelligent with good senses of empathy and humour.
NG has featured before on the blog, but nowhere near as much as she needs to!

And so NG, was brilliant to work with. Like many European models, not body conscious in front of camera, and with trust built would give you what you were asking for emotionally and then that little bit extra to lift the images from oooh to wow!
I'm just gutted, she's the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
As these were shot 10 years ago, and I wasn't shooting with a blog in mind, there are 15 images in today's set. You need to be a member to see them, so get signing up. Oh, it's free, by the way. You're welcome.
