Rose and her defining era

The Power

Shooting update

As the shooting for 2026 draws to a close the shooting updates will start to appear less. No point throwing some words on the page unless there's something to say!

In the absence of working with models (though one or two more shoots may find their way into the schedule) I plan to get out more, as weather allows and shoot some flora, fauna and landscapes. It will also double up as the kick-starting of my long distance walk training. I have it in mind to do two trails next year, assuming I can get the right level of fitness back.

Today's content

Long time collaborator Rose features today. This set is from our most recent reunion from July of this year. This was our second shoot this year after an 8 year break and our sixth time working together.

Rose now lives in Suffolk so shooting together seems to have fallen into a pattern of getting together when she's home for family visits. Not that that is a bad thing, we get to keep our working relationship going dipping in and out of each other's lives at the right time.

Drapery
Rose and a robe

Rose had had a bit of a rough time of it lately. I'm not going into it, but the information is pertinent as it helped inform the approach for this shoot.

I'd said to her, if she felt she could, I'd love for her to explore what everything that had happened to her could bring to the session. For her to concentrate less on being a model and simply give me what she was feeling on the day.

It made for a different session, I think. Not in the least bit sad or melancholy, but I definitely believe there's an extra layer to the pictures we made that day. Whether consciously or unconsciously Rose gave herself permission to feel for the camera. I'm eternally grateful that she felt she could trust me enough to do that.

Tillie & the Chair
My first shoot with Tillie ended with this fine art nude set utilising the white chair.

There are 35 images in the set and they are available to all members.
