Shooting update

Have had nearly three weeks off from shooting but was back to it a couple of days ago with statuesque Belgian model, Sara Scarlet over at Basford. Was good to be back shooting again, but as I approach nearly 100 shoots this year, I'm definitely ready for this slower rate of shoots!

Today's content

It's a short hop back to June today, and across the Pennines to Libre in Liverpool for a portrait set I shot with Maaike. A Dutch emigré, Maaike has been in the UK for a number of years and balances a busy life as a mother with spots of modelling and creative outletery.

This collaboration shoot was part of one of my occasional portfolio days. On these days I hire a studio and make shoot slots available to models looking for quality images to add to their books. Whilst I'm a little less constrained on who I work with, I do like to offer options to models who maybe don't get a lot of opportunities, or who have a bold look. I've always got one eye on the content aspect and who and what may look good here, for you all.

So, it was easy to make a deal with Maaike. They have such a distinctive look and were hopeful of obtaining some quality images exploring ideas of androgyny. I was happy to oblige.
